Sandals Resorts, long known for creating romantic paradises expressly for two people in love, and sister-company Beaches Resorts, offering a premier Caribbean vacation experience for everyone, have further expanded their charitable gift programming, now linking the companies’ philanthropic arm, the Sandals Foundation, to the resorts’ Wedding and Honeymoon Gift Registries. The new option gives couples celebrating their joyous occasion the opportunity to help less fortunate residents of the Caribbean through a donation to the Sandals Foundation in addition to receiving traditional wedding gifts. This addition to the registry program provides couples, and their family and friends alike, a wonderful way to “give back” to the region where they are celebrating one of the most memorable occasions of their lives.
The Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts Gift Registries, powered by Honeymoon Wishes – the world’s leading and most trusted on-line registry that has close to a quarter million registered couples – allows couples to add the Sandals Foundation as a gift option to their registry. Once the couple has registered at Registry.Sandals.com or Registry.Beaches.com, friends and family are invited to donate to the Foundation in increments of $25.00. One hundred percent of all donations go to fund Sandals Foundation projects in three core areas: education, community and the environment and include Care for Kids Scholarships, Youth Sports Programs, Adopted Schools, Community Centers, Marine Sanctuaries, Beach & Reef Clean Ups, and many more. By contributing to the Foundation, the happy couple’s friends and family are also eligible for a charitable tax deduction, as the Sandals Foundation is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization.
“We are so excited to be able to offer the service of gifting to a charity on behalf of the newly married couples, and Sandals Resorts are the perfect partner,” said Kristin Stark, Founder and President, Honeymoon Wishes.
Couples looking to personally volunteer while on their Sandals Resorts or Beaches Resorts honeymoon can also add the Reading Road Trip Excursion through Island Routes Caribbean Adventure Tours to their gift registry. This two-hour journey to one of the Foundation’s adopted schools in Jamaica, Antigua, Saint Lucia, The Bahamas or The Turks & Caicos Islands gives honeymooners the chance to meet and read to local children, to help improve their listening, comprehension and reading skills.
“Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts were built on a foundation of love and it’s only appropriate that we continue to ‘pay it forward’ and show our care and support throughout the Caribbean, especially to those who are less fortunate,” said Adam Stewart, CEO, Sandals Resorts International and President of the Board for the Sandals Foundation. “Together, with the help of generous individuals, we have the ability to make a real difference through the Foundation’s programs and initiatives and are able to make a positive impact on the lives of thousands of residents in the Caribbean.”
In addition to the Sandals Foundation, the gift registries allows couples to select from a wide variety of wedding and honeymoon amenities, creating a memorable and customized experience to suit every couple’s unique preferences. Whether a bottle of champagne, a private candle lit dinner on the beach, a romantic spa treatment for two, or simply a trip contribution towards their honeymoon stay; the list of gift options is endless.
